Open Book Blog Hop – Picking favourites

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: It’s been a long time since we’ve done this – what is your favourite book (not your own)? Has it changed in the last few years?

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I’m sure I’ve covered this topic myself at some time of another. Every time I’ve addressed this topic, I’ve struggled. I’m not sure there is one single book I could pick out. For example, one contender for the title would have to be Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Not the book of the same name, but the entire series. And as we’re on the subject of Stephen King, I should mention It, Misery, The Green Mile or The Stand as viable contenders. I love a bit King’s work, enough so that I couldn’t pick just one if I had to.

Then of course there is The Discworld series of books. For me the individual books within the series come together to make the whole into something special. I know plenty of Discworld fans that would easily pick one or another of Pratchett’s books as a favourite, and that is great! But for me, take one away and you take away a part of the complete narrative.

So the short and small of this post, I don’t have a single favourite book, there’s just too many.
