August continued the mixed weather that is the great British Summer, though it ended on a high that only got hotter this first week of September! I’ve also had a busy month or so including seeing The Who perform live and a wonderful city break in Copenhagen.
As the Crow Flies update
Here’s the biggest update of the month, as it has been the focus of my energies.
Last month I mentioned that I was up to my neck in edits. Well this month I am thrilled to announce that my first full round of edits and second round of typo edits have both been completed!
The book is actually in the hands of a group of test readers. One has finished reading it and the general feedback sounds good. I cannot wait to see their notes and work through anything I need to do to improve my work. Whilst positive feedback is amazing, I really hope my test readers are brutally honest in picking faults, errors and plot holes so I can make it the best book it can be.
The Twelve Days of Christmas update
Sadly, there has been no progress on this in the last month. I have been working flat out to edit As the Crow Flies
With As the Crow Flies out of my hands right now, I hope to make a little progress on this one. That said, though I’d love to have had it released by Christmas, that’s not going to happen. I’d rather not rush it, but to get it right from the outset.
The Crow’s Nest podcast
Very similarly, no further progress on this one. I hope to get back to it again while I try to pretend I am not desperately waiting for feedback on As the Crow Flies!
Having things on the edge of being born into existence makes it hard to concentrate on the other work waiting to be finished.
Iâve such a scenario playing out now.
Ah the curse of the weary writer.
