So as 2020 begins, I thought it would be good to give you a little update of where things are with Chasing Shadows. When I started writing it on the 1st of November as part of NaNoWriMo I wanted to build habits to write daily, whether that would be a hundred words here or a thousand words there.
Well I found it surprisingly easy throughout the month to maintain this. I expected that December would be more of a struggle with Christmas, parties and all of the trappings that come with the festive season. Happily I still managed to maintain the daily habit, writing even just a little bit every day.
So with the end of 2019, where does this leave Chasing Shadows? I’ve written some parts recently that I am really pleased and proud of. As of the 31st of December, two months after I started writing this book I have reached a target of 31,500 words. I am beyond happy with this achievement. I had hoped to reach around 25,000 words. This word count came and went and I started to think 30 was in reach. I was really happy to meet and surpass this target too. I am feeling eager to progress the story and hope to have it finished during the early part of 2020, but between my book reviewing and full-time job, I am putting no pressure on that one.
Here’s to a productive and happy New Year!
