Looking Forward to 2025

Happy New Year! With the start of 2025, it’s time to reflect on the year that was and look at my plans for the coming year.

2024 has been a year of ups and downs, particularly when it comes to writing. I have a lot of work to do to improve on that score in the coming year, but I’ve got some plans in place. I’m not setting any concrete goals, especially in terms of saying “I will release X book/s this year or anything like that. What will be will be! That said, there will DEFINITELY be a new book in 2025, more on that later.

Medium

Medium continues to be a source of great creativity and happiness for me and my writing. It’s been the most consistent place I’ve written in 2024. So much so that I am collecting some of my writings from there into a little book of short fiction which I will discuss more later in the year.

This year’s challenge on Medium will be to write one drabble a day – 365 drabbles! If I can manage this, I would love to release a book with them all in – a year in drabbles.

A Murder of Crows

There’s not been a lot if any progress since the middle of the year on this one due to previously discussed motivational issues. I hope to turn this around this year.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Much like A Murder of Crows, it’s a work in progress with very little movement. My motivation held me back.

Other projects

I’ve previously mentioned a collection of short stories in the world of Edison Crow. This is still in the pipeline and I’ve made some early work on this. I have several stories collected together and a working title which I hope to share later this year as I progress it!

There is also another new novel in the works. This one I have started work on. I know I have two others already started, but this new idea is the one that really reignited my imagination. So for that reason, I’ll be looking into this one a fair bit this year. It’s quite different and poses a new challenge as it needs a new approach to writing. But I’m excited, I can feel my drive to write returning!

I think that’s plenty enough from me. I really do hope to be more consistent in my updates this year, but we will see. In the mean time, please do follow my socials, Medium and my weekly Open Book Blog Hops. Your shares and comments all help keep me going!
