Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: Is there a specific time of year when your ideas flow better and you find you’re writing more? What do think contributes to that??
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I don’t think particular months or seasons have a specific impact on my writing. I mean, there are the obvious things like autumn and winter doing wonders for seasonal fiction centred around Hallowe’en and Christmas. But I don’t actually think I have specific times of year that are better for me creatively.
A lot of my writing is inspired by a single idea or concept. Things are then augmented by snatches of conversation I hear, things I see, places I come across. I think more than anything, the biggest help to my creativity is being in the best frame of mind. If I’m too tired, distracted or uptight then writing is the worst thing I can be doing.
Yes, being in the right frame of mind is best, but I find I do write more during the winter.

I suppose I do write more in the winter, but that is less because it inspires me the most, and more down to a lack of desire to be out in the cold, dark and wet so much.

Yes, I’m indoors more in the winter, and writing is something enjoyable to do until summer comes.

I definitely write more in the winter, which is also (probably) why I don’t write Alaskana. I want to be anywhere but in Alaska in the winter.

As a Brit with mild, wet, dreary winters, let’s set up a seasonal exchange. I’ll take your cold snowy winter, and you can have mine!

I’ve never written a seasonal piece. I’ve considered it, but it hasn’t happened.

I’ve done a few festive short stories, and a few shorts based purely on time of year – autumn and winter specifically. I am working on a crime thriller novel with Christmas at its heart.

I agree about “frame of mind.” I don’t think it’s about the calendar year for me, at least now that I’m not a teacher anymore, but there are seasons to my ability to concentrate.
