Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Have you ever taken something that you worked on very early in your writing journey and made it into a complete work later? Or do you plan to?
Remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have created. You can find their works here!

The first attempt I made at writing fiction, it was intended to be a fictional retelling of the story of Jack the Ripper. I’ve always had a morbid fascination with true crime and Jack the Ripper in particular. I’ve discussed on the Blog Hop in the past about the struggles I had with this and that it continues to languish in the dust.
Since then, I’ve worked on steampunk novels, which touches on facets of the Victorian era. I’ve considered introducing a character based on another Victorian London figure, Spring-heeled Jack, so there’s no reason why the Ripper can’t put in a showing. That said, I’ve never entirely shunned the idea of returning to a historical fiction novel around the story of Jack. Now I think about it, maybe there’s a story to be written for him in a steampunk universe…
I’m a fine one to comment, with all my unfinished work, but I’d love to read a Steampunk/Jack the Ripper Mashup.

Agreed! Think I might need to do some research into how I might make him work in my world.

Did you ever see that TV programme where a man researched Jack the Ripper for 30 years and finally realised who he was?

Didn’t see that show. (but I don’t watch TV.) I hope they didn’t drag it out so far it became boring. So, tell us, who was Jack The Ripper?
