Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
What are your triggers for writing? (For instance, what gets you hyped or starts the story in your head?). And on the opposite side, what chills your drive to write?
Remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have created. You can find their works here!

As for where the ideas come from, they come from anywhere. They might be inspired by other stories I’ve read, things I’ve seen, that kind of thing. Sometimes they come from things I’m interested in. Elements might come from bits of conversations I overhear out and about.
In terms of what sparks my drive to write, several factors are in play here. First off, I have to be in the right frame of mind for it. If I’m stressed, tired or unhappy, then writing is not top of my agenda. I enjoy writing, and don’t want it to feel like a chore. So, on the flip side of these points, these make the scenarios when I lose my drive to write.
If I’m tired, overworked, or in a low mood, these things all hit my drive to write. The moment I try to force myself to write and it feels less like a creative pursuit and more like an obligation, then I know I need to step away. I don’t think there’s anything overly out of the ordinary in these things, but I need to be in a place to enjoy my writing.
Sometimes the voices in my head go quiet and I wonder if they will ever come back. When they do, they all shout at once.

Yes, it’s a bad day when writing feels like a chore. With all the stress that comes from politics in the US these days, there are too many of those days.

Too tired has often been what slows me down. Sometimes life asks for more than I have. @samanthabwriter from Balancing Act

these last several years of work life have really dampened my ability to write. Too much stress, anxiety, and being worn out.

I get that. When work gets too much it is really draining. I take breaks when I need to when this happens.
