Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: What’s your favourite word in the English language? Any other language?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I’ve picked an old favourite for this. Petrichor. It’s a wonderful world, and I love the smell. That warm, fresh smell that follows the first rain after a prolonged period of dry. It’s one of a number of words on the list for me. Another is susurrus – a whispering or rustling sound. I do like words that relate to the experiences of the senses, there’s something very visceral about them.
They are both excellent words, great choices.

I’ve never heard of susurrus, but it’s a great word.

Amazing words. I wished we had more reason to use them.

Beautiful choices! I’m fond of both these words and the concepts behind them. @samanthabwriter from

“Susurrus.” Lovely. “Petrichor” takes me back to childhood and the soaking rains we used to have after periods of drought.
