Open Book Blog Hop – 29th July 2024

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: Which book of yours do you recommend readers start with?

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

As an author with just three books to my name so far, this one actually comes down to a choice from two. If short stories are your thing, then A Flash in the Dark is your best bet. There’s a mix of sci-fi, thriller, crime alongside some more uplifting stories, with even a festive story thrown in for good measure. Admittedly, there isn’t an obvious theme, but I’m still proud of them. It gives you a flavour of my writing.

If novels are what you are after then the option for you will be Chasing Shadows. It’s the first book in my steampunk series. It’s got pirates of the skies, action, adventure, and a little humour mixed in with some darker themes. It may not be perfect, or mainstream, but I am super proud of it. Once you’ve read it (and left me a glowing review on Amazon), then you can dive straight into As the Crow Flies. It’s the sequel to Chasing Shadows, following the adventures of Edison Crow, Selah and his ragtag crew.

If you asked me the same question in a year or two’s time, I’ll hopefully have a few more books to give you the options to pick from!
