Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: Do you write while you are travelling? How do you make it work?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

Quite honestly, the answer to this one is “it depends”. The first element is what am I working on? Sometimes I write by hand with a pen and notebook. A lot of the time, I write on my laptop. The second consideration is the destination and type of holiday. If I’m travelling overseas, then it’s quite likely I’ll be doing a lot of sightseeing and trips. With that in mind, I probably wouldn’t take my laptop. But a notebook and pen is likely.
If the trip is a “staycation” – somewhere I’d likely be driving to – then the laptop could be brought with me. Even then, I might only use it sparingly at the start or the end of the day. In reality, travelling is an opportunity to take a break from the norm, so stepping away from writing isn’t a bad thing. But keeping a pen and paper to hand is useful just in case inspiration strikes without warning!
After a few memory lapses, I’m never without my notebook.

Notebooks are good. I often jot down ideas when I’m away from home, but seldom write as such.
