Open Book Blog Hop – I need my space

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: Describe what your dream writing space would look like.

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

An AI generated image of a log cabin at the edge of a forest, by a lake. The sun is setting and snow covers the ground. In the background are mountains.

Now this one is quite an easy one for me to answer this week. See the image above? It’s the output from my prompt in MidJourney AI generator. It’s my dream place. Just me, my wife and the two cats. I’d love to be able to give up work, and move out into nature. A log cabin, in a forest at the edge of a lake. Remote, with very few people. As long as I could get Wi-Fi and coffee, that is. A log cabin, with a room dedicated to writing, that offered views both out over the lake and up to the mountains in the distance, but also back into the forest. Somewhere that would be filled with greenery in the summer with crisp blue skies filled with birds, and in the autumn and winter, a riot of colours in the trees before being blanketed by snowfall. A burner filled with logs for warmth and smoke curling up into the sky from a chimney. Coming back from walks to see the windows glowing invitingly with warmth and light from inside. To me, this would be bliss.

As for the writing space, it would either be the porch outside, or a room filled with books, a typewriter (I’m a bit obsessed with them), my computer and all the pens I might need. A simple space where I could open the windows and listen to nature, or in the water listen to a log fire and gentle music for background as the wind whistles around the trees and across the lake.
