Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: What are your best and worst social media sites?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

Quite honestly, I struggle with social media. All of it is a bit hit-and-miss. Twitter has gone through something of a tumultuous time since its recent takeover. Add to that, it can be a bit of a struggle to get much traction over there. Facebook is potentially quite good for reaching many people with a wide range of content. But it can also be very fickle. Any slight, perceived infraction can see you thrown in Facebook jail, unable to share content with anyone. It’s so tough to ensure a regular content-sharing approach that assures large viewer figures. Instagram and TikTok are tough, I can’t come up with enough ideas to post regularly to engage viewers.
Obviously, there are Facebook and Amazon ads, but I’ve heard mixed things about that score so haven’t tried those. Just recently I’ve started a mailing list, and the numbers seem okayish, so I will continue to go down that avenue. I’ve also recently joined BookFunnel and am looking forward to seeing where that goes. In the meantime, I’m going to carry on promoting my work on as many of the social media platforms as I can while I work on my next books!
That mirrors a lot of my experiences, I’ve concluded that this is a long game, with ups and downs. After ten years, I’m still learning the rules.

BookFunnel is a good one to use. I’ve gained nearly 2000 subscribers for my mailing list so far through BookFunnel.

I have 26 or 27 subscribers, but my first group promo kicks off in a few weeks so hoping that will improve a bit.
