Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: Do you have advice for changing perspective? For example, switching from writing exclusively in the third person and switching to the first person? Or do you have a reason for staying with the perspective you do?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I’m not sure I have a reason why I write in the third person really. I just started writing and that was what felt natural. I wonder if it has anything to do with how the story ideas come to me? I see them from the outside, as though I am following along behind the characters. I’m there as the action takes place, but I’m not inside any one character’s head. It wasn’t a truly conscious choice, it just seemed to be the natural choice for me. As for steering clear of flip-flopping, I don’t really have any ideas on that one. Because third place feels so natural for me, it’s not something I struggle too much with. I suppose though if I have ever slipped, that’s where my incredible editor comes in. So if in doubt, find yourself a great editor to keep you on the straight and narrow!
I also tend to write in close 3rd person in most of my writing, and I’m not sure I chose that consciously. @samanthabwriter from

As long as it works, some stories can only be told one way.

I write in both 3rd and 1st POV. The story dictates the POV, though sometimes I’ve been able to swap it up successfully. These days, I prefer 1st person.
