Open Book Blog Hop – The Ghost of Christmas Presents

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: What did you want for your birthday or Christmas that you never got and might be bitter about? Have you bought it for yourself?

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I am going to be exceptionally boring with this week’s topic. Simply put, no there isn’t anything I dreamt of and never received. I’ve been very fortunate in that sense. I’d not say spoilt, but certainly fortunate. Especially as I got older, and my tastes shifted to expensive video games or Lego sets. I’d never expect anything, and would certainly never ask for something so expensive.

Now, as an adult with an income of my own, I tend to find I purchase these bigger things for myself having first put the money by. For one thing, there is something rather satisfying in being able to purchase something for yourself, and for another, I’d never ask for someone to purchase them for me.

Giving gifts, however, is something I enjoy. Especially when it’s not something someone asked for, but something you came up with yourself. That brings a sense of warmth and happiness. And with this being the last Open Book Blog Hop before the big day, a huge Merry Christmas one and all!

  1. It’s great to be an adult and to have the income to buy things you really want. When money was tight when our sons were small, I asked my husband what he’d like for Christmas, and he said he needed a pair of axle stands. I said that’s what I wanted too, and so we bought each other an axle stand each!
