Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
This week’s theme is a real head-scratcher: if you could have an unlimited supply of anything, what would you have?
And remember to pay a visit to my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!
Money? Food? Coffee? Lego? Cars? What would I have an unlimited amount of? Money is the obvious pick for a lot of people. Oh the things I could do with unlimited cash reserves! The places I could travel! How much easier would life be with that kind of money? I would want for nothing. But would it really make things better? Would it bring happiness? Or would it cause me more trouble?
Coffee. Well, that one goes without saying – I love coffee! But there is a very finite amount I can consume before my brain will burst. So that rules out material gains really. So what is my answer? Nothing. Nothing is my answer. Sometimes the allure of something being unlimited seems great. But I think anything could grow tiresome after a period if you had unlimited access to it. Some of the best things are born from anticipation and a sense of achievement from earning something through graft.
But if I had to pick something, time would probably the closest I could choose. To have the chance to spend more time with those that matter the most to me. It would be a chance to do everything in life I most want to do and achieve. And maybe throw in a little more time for writing too while we are at it!
Now I think about it, I am not sure I’d want that either. Would we really appreciate everything in life to the fullest if we had unlimited time to experience it? Would we appreciate anything to its fullest if we had unlimited amounts of it? Who knows!
Sod it. I’ll have more Lego. Unlimited Lego. Don’t tell the missus, I’ll find somewhere to store it!
