Open Book Blog Hop – Oh to be Young Again!

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

This week’s we are thinking about the past and the future. What do I miss most about being younger, and what do I look forward to most about the future?

And remember to pay a visit to my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

What do I miss most? Hmmm. The carefree nature of childhood. No responsibilities, no worries. Life was definitely less stressful without bills. Also, the ability to get up off the sofa or out of bed without a chorus of grunts and groans and assorted joints creaking and popping as I move. Because this is the soundtrack to my life now. A lack of energy and a dirth of noises that acompany any and all physical exertion, no matter how gentle. It’s such a wondrous sound…

As for the future? Travelling some more would be great. Writing and publishing more books would be a dream. Spending more time with friends and family would be amazing too. But really, especially after the last year or so, living in the now is more important. Taking time to do what I enjoy, spending time with those that matter. Life’s too short for anything else.

Oh and what do I really enjoy about being older? Having the money to do the things I wanted to do as a kid! Nothing beats video games and Lego!

  1. Video games are the THING we do in the winter when the temperature and dark press down on us. And, yeah, the aching joints. I try to keep up my fitness, but the covid lockdowns closed my gym for three months last year when it was still winter and I’m still struggling to get fully back to where I was and I definitely feel it.

  2. I am told I have arthritis my knees. (And I believe it!) But so far they haven’t hurt, they’re just stiff, and I can deal with that.
