Open Book Blog Hop – 25th March 2024

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: Is there a book in your TBR pile that you’re more excited about than the others?

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I’ve actually got a pretty substantial “to be read” list. Before writing, I reviewed books and still do. As a result I’ve got a pretty expansive list of books yet to be read. Most of them are from people to review, and a fair few I’ve bought myself to enjoy. Given the ponderous scale of my TBR I’m going to pull out a few books I’ve bought myself that I’m super keen to get to.

First up is The Institute by Stephen King. It seems like something quite different from his usual horror stuff. I’ve had it on my shelf for quite some time now and am excited to dive into it. Next up are two collections I’ve wanted to read for some time but for reasons unknown to me, I just haven’t managed yet: the His Dark Materials trilogy and the Dune series of books. Both have plenty in the way of visual media to tempt me in, so I just need to get around to sitting down and reading them.

This is just a small sample of the books I’ve got to read that I’m looking forward to, but I know there are plenty more to come, and plenty not yet released that I’ll be looking forward to.

I may seem like a heretic to this group, but I read the first book in the Dune series many years ago and wasn’t impressed. I never read any more of the series.
