Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: What is your favourite Christmas book/film/snack?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

In case I’ve never mentioned it before, I LOVE Christmas. The season is wonderful – the build-up, the decorations, the films, the music. All of it. It’s brilliant. I do have a favourite book – A Christmas Carol. It’s the iconic classic that never gets old. That said, I’ve read a lot of other Christmas centred fiction this year, so that’s been nice.
Films, now this is a tougher shout. There’s that festive classic Die Hard. Frankly, it’s not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi Plaza. And I won’t hear otherwise. Home Alone (only the first two) are must-watches in my house. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Deck the Halls, Christmas with the Kranks, Scrooged. But I think The Muppet’s A Christmas Carol is the one that edges it for me. It’s so magical, and I always save it to watch on Christmas Eve.
As for snacks, food and drink – well there are a few that come to mind. A nice glass of Baileys is up there. That first glass of the season to me screams Christmas. Pigs in blankets are pretty synonymous with the festive season, too. I love them! An marzipan. I know it’s not strictly a festive snack, but I love the taste and texture of marzipan, and it seems to feature a lot in festive treats across Europe. Not least a nice bit of Stollen cake.
And with that, it’s almost Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas however you spend it!
