Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: Do you favour certain colour schemes for your book covers?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I only have three book covers to date, but each was designed by myself. I wouldn’t specifically say I have a set colour scheme for my books. I lean into other concepts. For Chasing Shadows and As the Crow Flies – I wanted them to look like they go together. Both books are part of the same series, and I was keen to the visuals to reflect that. They also somewhat reflect the tone of the books.
When it came to A Flash in the Dark, I needed a different approach. This book is a collection of short stories and flash fiction spanning a number of genres. The main theme of the collection is that all of the stories came to me as a sudden flash of inspiration. So I picked out a starting image that really conveyed, to me, that spark of an idea.
I’ve got a number of other books in the works, so who knows what approach I will take with those when the time comes to create covers for those.

Your Steampunk covers are great and show a real connection.

I like the way you connect the two books across the series. Plenty of ways to add more to the theme!
