Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s topic is: What kind of support do you receive (or not receive) from family, friends, and your community?
And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

I think this one is a really tough one to quantify. Support comes in different forms and from different people. My wife is an incredible source of support and encouragement. She’s always there to help me with tricky ideas, and someone I know I can bounce ideas off of. That said, she is not much of a book reader, so hasn’t actually read my books. That’s in no way a negative, I should add.
Then there are my writer friends. They’ve been immense in seeing me actually become an author. They’ve encouraged me to write, listened to my ideas, read early drafts of my books, given feedback and even bought copies to help support me. They are a testament to the wonderful community of writers. They share my posts and book news, they cheer me on, and for that I will always be grateful.
Then there is my parents, friends and family. They’ve all been cheering my on from the sidelines. They support by sharing my posts about writing progress or my books as they approach release. And they buy my books, which is a big help!
Support can be different things from different people, all that truly matters is that people care enough to support.
My husband is a practical man, so like your wife he isn’t much of a reader either, and thankfully he just leaves me to it. He does offer a few ideas as regards plots though.

exactly. And I think that’s the toughest part, that people assume support means buying or reading books, which I don’t think is accurate.

My wife doesn’t read my stuff, she doesn’t like the genre. But she supports me by allowing me the time and space to create. And that’s worth everything to me.

My husband isn’t a reader either, but when I read one of my early attempts to him, he nodded and said “That’s a book I would read.” That’s what I needed to hear.
