Open Book Blog Hop – Lights, camera, action!

Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!

Today’s topic is: Has a book or movie ever been based somewhere you’ve lived? How did it compare?

And remember to visit my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!

There hasn’t been anything huge set in my home town. Bits and pieces, or elements of it have appeared in British TV series’ and adverts. Similarly, a few neighbouring or nearby towns have been used as partial locations in films and TV. As for books, Once again where I’m from has cropped up in passing but not in a lead role. The nearest to that is Richard Dee’s We are Saul which does have an element in my county which was nice to read!

I agree. Last films I remember where the Johnny Depp Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which used a locally famous building for the factory, but was altered massively with CGI. Also the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost film The World’s End used a few towns/pubs around me as well.
