Welcome back to another Open Book Blog Hop!
Today’s question is: What is on your TBR pile?
And remember to pay a visit to my fellow writers to see what they have come up with. You can find their works here!
Where to be begin with this? Well, I can say with some certainty that I am relieved much of mine is on my Kindle. My TBR (To Be Read) stack is some what ponderous at this stage. If it were physical, I think I’d become a candidate for an unusal death – buried under the weight of books. Whenever I get another book I just remind myself it isn’t drugs…
But what’s on my list? Well at the last count it exceeded 250 books by a fair margin, so I am going to spare you an exhaustive list. I will pick out a handful of choice options.
First up is The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley. This one has been on my list a while, and I’ve heard it mentioned quite a bit in bookish circles, so am looking forward to this one. Next up is Those People from Louise Candlish. This is a thriller that sounds like it pitches neighbours against one another. It really caught my eye. Then we have She Has a Broken Thing Where Her Heart Should Be by J.D. Barker. I loved is 4MK murder mystery series. This sounds equally dark, but with a hint of the supernatural thrown in for good measure.
I also have Billy Summers and The Institute on my list, must haves given I am a massive fan of Stephen King. I am really excited to read His Dark Materials series since watching it on TV. There are a few classics in there too – 1984, A Clockwork Orange and Fahrenheit 451 to name a few.
As the year grows later there are a few books I will reread as I do every year. First up there’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love this story, and the film is one of my all time favourites. And every year I read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I think that’s enough for now, so I should go make a dent in my pile.
